Does the nuts fall from the tree? My kids would have NO idea…

Published by jimnrara at 7:40 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Well good afternoon to my dear friends.  How are you today?  I suppose I am fine but the sick monster has me tight in his grip.  My darling husband is sick too.  Since he has a lot of health problems I worry about him even though he is a cranky butt when he is sick.  (Well that is silly he is always a cranky butt lately).  So right now my children are outside fighting the squirrels for the pecans from our pecan tree.  However if I wasn’t too lazy and sick to walk t the window and look I am sure to see them “looking” while sitting on their backsides.  It is amazing how they don’t “see” them from that angle.  So I am sure they will come in with 10 pecans and 10 that they have eaten.  Oh well the penalties for being parents.  So I am watching my NASCAR race for the week so if I start screaming you know my man is winning.   I will try to remain calm and not scare you.  The NASCAR season is coming to a close for the year.  So I will be suffering from NASCAR withdrawal.  I warn you now it isn’t a pretty sight.  I will be a little “out” of it till February.  Well our Christmas in Cullman was a very nice time.  I wish it was a bit bigger like it used to be but things change I guess.  It was fun and the kids had a good time.  My wee ones got their picture with Santa but if you look closely you will see me holding a gun on my twelve year old.  She thought she was “too” cool and I said “No not if you want Christmas presents”.  It is amazing what no gift does to a child’s behavior.  This is when I have my kids on a string.  I am not a bad mommy but I have some not so nice mommy threats for the Christmas season.  I take about all I can of the fighting, screaming, tattle-telling, and whining till I snap.  The kid who pushes me off the deep end of the pool of insanity gets to pick a present from under the tree and gets to open it.  Once they see what it was then I take it and take it back to the store.  Now the first time I did this they thought “Aw mom won’t do that”.  When I did they sat there stunned.  (Of course I didn’t take it back to the store but they thought I did)  So they know the drill during the holidays.  I know this sounds mean but it works and trust me my brain, heart, soul, body and nerves need this small break so I take a deep breath and put on mean mommy mask.  Of course this isn’t a fool proof plan but it works.  So dear readers I am off to watch the final laps of my race and start the Sunday night ritual of getting stuff for tomorrow ready.  Till tomorrow dear friends may the angels smile down on you….
